I just can't Even believe that there was once a point in time that I didn't have this blanket. It is so warm and cozy and the fur looks so real. My little dog's love sleeping on this and and sometimes I have to kick them off so that I can use it. I ordered the biggest size because the last time I ordered one of these 1 of these it was too small and I couldn't fit myself elf and my boyfriend underneath it. I ordered the biggest size and it is absolutely perfect. I only write a few reviews, And the only reason why I write the Review is because the product is extraordinary. This is one of those items for sure. I cannot say enough good things about this blanket. I wanted to note that I washed it right when I got it because it did have a tiny bit of shedding. I Then hung it out to dry and it turned out perfect. There is some shedding after you wash it so you have to shake it out really well outside. The shedding only happens once. There's been no more after the first wash.You know how sometimes when you order an item after you've wanted it for so long, and you've built it up in your mind so much that when it finally arrives you're a bit disappointed? Well, this isn't going to be one of those times. Even after reading multiple glowing reviews and deciding on the kitt fox faux fur throw, I hesitated to order it. I didn't want to invest $155 in something I would be less than thrilled with so I debated, hedged, and chewed my nails for weeks before finally taking the leap. When it arrived I opened the package. I thought the throw was lovely and well made, but getting it was seemed almost anticlimactic and I was nervous. Perhaps I had dreamed of having one for too long and my expectations had grown too lofty; perhaps no fur throw of any quality would ever be able to measure up. Boy, was I wrong!The very first time I laid beneath the soft, graceful folds of this elegant throw to take a nap, I feel in love with it. Dog/animal lovers will understand. It was like snuggling up with a beloved malamute on a cold winter's day, only better. No bed hogging, no sharp nails, no wiggling about, and no messy face slurps; just cozy, comforting warmth - with the feel of plush real fur on top, and a lining of velvety-soft rabbit fur. I ordered the full throw size, large enough for hubby and I to snuggle together. It is heavy, but not not too heavy, and adds a homey, designer appeal to room decor. Although faux, the fur is very convincing. It has a nap that looks and feels real, with enough variance in fur shade, length, and texture to convincingly imitate individual pelts that have been sewn together. In fact, while reading a book or watching television I find myself absentmindedly weaving my fingers through the fur as though caressing a dog (or tame wolf or fox); extremely comforting and relaxing. While some of the other varieties of this fur throw sport shorter fibers with less of a nap and more uniform color, this particular version is perfect for me.Because I am an animal lover, I consider this better than real animal hide. I get the beauty, warmth, and feel of authentic animal fur, without any of the guilt. Would I order another - you bet! (I'm trying to convince hubby that he needs his very own ... perhaps the brown mink?)JANUARY 21 2016 UPDATE: just want wanted to comment that I still love the throw. I use it daily, often sharing it with my kitty who loves either curling up on top of it, or sneaking beneath its warmth when there's a bit of a chill. Also, I recall one commenter pointing out that the lining was not 'tacked' to the upper fur part, which meant there was some shifting. True, but I think it is this very fact that allows the fur throw to drape so gracefully and provides such luxurious folds. I've added a picture of my lovely fur throw waiting for me to enjoy its comforting warmth.MAY 27, 2016 UPDATE: with warm summer months upon us, my beloved kitty fox faux fur throw has been packed away until cooler weather returns. I do find myself missing it though ... dare I hope for chilly weather just so that I can retrieve it from the closet and lose myself within its folds again? Because, like you, I depend upon the comments and experiences of other consumers when making an Amazon purchasing decision.This is an awesome throw. I purchased two for my husband and I for our first anniversary in October and we have used them almost every day. Yes they are pricey and while that made me hesitate, I am glad I went ahead as there isn't anything we have enjoyed more. While they are somewhat heavy, they seem to "breathe" and are not overly hot. We used them in mild fall weather in Ohio and now are using them in January in below zero temps. They go from the recliner to the couch to the bed! Hard to believe but we have not seen one hair shed from this throw. Can't stop looking at the color as the fur is so realistic. The "guard hair" is tipped in black, just as it would be in nature. I would love to know how these are made as they are almost too good to be true. The reverse side is like mink! The softest, silkiest short velvety fur ever! Have not washed or dry-cleaned as yet (the tag says to dry clean) so wonder what it will cost to have dry-cleaned but am hoping they come through the cleaning process to be as nice as they are now. Will miss them while they are gone! Since we loved ours, purchased another as a gift for a special family friend and she loves it just like we do. Purchased the larger size and glad we did as we can use it as an extra cover on the bed in very cold weather and there is plenty of material there from head to toe. Probably close to a twin-size blanket in the 58" X 84" size. The only down-side worth mentioning is that it is somewhat heavy to carry but the pluses certainly outweigh this little minus.I've wanted a nice faux fur blanket for over 7 years and finally pulled the trigger on this blanket. It was everything I've always hoped for. Super soft on both sides and looks stunning. Definitley the most expensive blanket I've ever purchased but it was well worth it. Only cons are that it must be dry cleaned and that it might be too heavy for some people. I personally have no problem with the weight but it's just a little too heavy for my girlfriends preferences. Overall, I Highly recommend this blanket!This throw is so realistic and when my cat is on it, he disappears in the colors. It's super soft and very warm. My daughter liked it so much that I bought her one.
